Plymouth Speedway Slip Designed Wood Fired Stoneware Vase

This wheel thrown stoneware vase features slip clay decoration from Plymouth Speedway, Indiana. I have combined my dual loves of art and racing by scraping the clay off the nerf bars of our sprint car. Then it is dried and screened to remove most of the impurities. Water is added to the consistency of heavy cream and the slip is again run through a screen before painting on the vessel as a decorative surface design.
This earthy vessel would be great for a table centerpiece with flowers to contrast the variety of rich brown hues. This vase weighs 3/4 of one pound empty and holds 15 fluid ounces of water for your favorite floral bouquet.
